We are pleased to announce the opening of submissions for 1 Taube Prize for Student Writing in Hebrew & Jewish Studies, generously funded by Taube Philanthropies!
Current Master’s and DPhil students at the University of Oxford across Faculties working on any topic in Hebrew and/or Jewish Studies may each submit one written work—an essay, article, thesis/dissertation chapter, etc.—of a minimum length of 3,000 words and a maximum length of 5,000 words to the OCHJS for consideration by the committee. The candidate with the most original and promising written work will be awarded a prize of £1,000.
To apply, please submit a completed application form along with your written work—together as a single PDF—to the Academic Registrar, Ms Madeleine Trivasse, at registrar@ochjs.ac.uk.
The deadline for submissions is Friday 22 May 2026 (Week 4) at 12 noon UK time.
The results will be announced in Week 7 and an award ceremony will take place at 11am on Thursday 18 June (Week 8) of Trinity Term at the OCHJS.
