Object 4. James and his wife Emma Immerwahr

Undated

Description:

James married Emma Immerwahr. She was born in Beuthen, Upper Silesia, Prussia in 1854. James and Emma died six months apart in 1944 and are buried together in Hoop Lane Cemetery, London. It is likely that they met during James’ time as a bookkeeper in Breslau, Poland in 1872.  His mother, also called Emma, was from Prussia as well. The Immerwahr and Loewe families had previous connections. The exact date of this photograph is unknown but was probably taken in the early twentieth century.
