Object 1. James Loewe's School Maths Book

1870

Description:

James Loewe would have been 18 during the summer of 1870 when this highly detailed notebook was written. Each page includes detailed diagrams and corresponding notes in black ink. It appears to have been copied from a German textbook, the first page begins ‘Von den Proportionen im Kreise und von der Beziehung zwischen Kreisen oder Kreisen, und Graden’ (Of the proportion of circles and the relationship between circles, other circles and degrees). It is not known at what time James moved to London and where he went to school.
