Annual Meeting and Supper

Description:

Herbert Loewe was an active member of the Jewish community and participated in the social life of the university. He was the president of the Cambridge Branch of the Anglo-Jewish Association (AJA) for several years (images 1 and 2). The Association, which was one of the predecessors of the Cambridge University Jewish Society (founded in 1937), was working for the promotion of religious as well as secular education and organised public lectures and social and fundraising events.

The booklet on display (images 3-7) is about the Annual meeting and supper held on Purim at the Blue Boar, 1911.
