The Centre welcomes applications from established scholars in any field of Jewish Studies. Over the three decades of its existence, the Centre has enabled many dozens of scholars from around the world to reside at its premises at Yarnton Manor while pursuing research in all areas of Jewish history, literature, language, and thought.
Library facilities include the Leopold Muller Memorial Library at Yarnton as well as the Bodleian Library in Oxford. A regular and modestly priced shuttle-service provided by the Centre's minibus affords convenient access to the centre of Oxford.

ESAJS Fellowship Application Deadlines for 2010-2011 are:
First round: 15 January 2010 & Second Round: 15 March 2010

Applicants must be recognised Israeli writers or scholars who have a
proven record of publications in their genre or field.Recipients of this Fellowship are provided with accommodation on the Yarnton Manor estate and will receive a stipend of £750 per calendar month of tenure, payable pro-rata from the date of arrival on the estate until the date of departure. Self-catering accommodation is provided rent-free, but Fellows are responsible for their own heating, lighting, telephone bills and Council Tax.
The normal period of tenure is three months which must include at least one full Oxford academic term, during which the Fellow is expected to be in full-time residence. Exceptionally other periods may be considered.
Successful candidates are required to participate in the academic activities of the Centre and to make a contribution to the general academic life of the University. All such activities are conducted in English, therefore a good command of the English language is essential. Visiting Fellows may be invited to give a talk within the David Patterson Seminar series at Yarnton and also to present a paper on their research at the Oriental Institute.

Visiting Scholars are offered accommodation for rent whenever it is available. Those not accommodated at the Centre must be resident in Oxford during their stay. Visiting Scholars are encouraged to attend and participate in the academic activities of the Centre, all of which are conducted in English. They may be invited to present a paper relating to their research, should a suitable opportunity arise.
The period of tenure for a Visiting Scholar is normally between three and six months and must include an Oxford University term. Exceptionally other periods may be considered.
Applications for Visiting Scholarships are accepted throughout the year.

Other academic visitors are welcome at the Oxford Centre for brief periods. Such short-term visitors are not given formal association with or status at the Centre, but are welcome to use the Leopold Muller Memorial Library at Yarnton. Arranging access to other library facilities in Oxford is the responsibility of the individual concerned. The Centre's shuttle bus and office services such as photocopying and faxing are available for the use of academic visitors at reasonable rates.
